The home was a family heirloom, passed on from a mother to her daughter. While the daughter loved both the house and landscape, she really wanted make them her own. She revamped everything, both inside and out, and asked us to update the landscape. Some of the changes we made were practical; the house sat on a hill, and required a drainage overhaul. Others were aesthetic – we added new garden areas that suited the daughter’s tastes and provided more color, interest and seasonal beauty. Some things, we felt, were better left alone. One of the landscape’s best features was a large, grassy expanse, which was healthy, well cared for, and beautiful. We left it just as it is, and we currently maintain it, along with the other yard and garden areas of this home.
